Both releases have two presentations: sourced from the original Betacam master tapes, and another that uses a filmout of the tapes.

Disney Blu-ray has the original 5.1 CDS mix

• Recent Streaming versions (All 4 and Peacock) are AI upscaled

• Peacock also removes the original ad break slides

• The interviews and opening introductions also aren't de-interlaced properly into PAL 50fps

4K Streaming has Dolby Vision and is a newer significantly better restoration see caps comparing against Fox Blu-ray

Supposed to have better translation than Criterion.

Upscaled from the 2K DI. Caps are here. While not as dramatic an upgrade as Jackie Brown, color reproduction and especially the reveal of additional highlight information that were completely blown-out on the old master make this a great upgrade regardless. See Uma Thurman’s face in the above cap. Japan Cut: Japan DVD

Japan DVD has more extras compared to the HD/UHD releases

> Sony 2019 Standard Edition 4K Blu-ray

US Sony 2023 Steelbook 4K Blu-ray added Dolby Vision and more extras

DVD and Blu-ray both have lossy Mono

The DVD has an isolated score track
In addition to the new Atmos track, both 4K Blu-ray releases have ported over the previous lossless 5.1 remix from the older 1080p Blu-ray in DTS-HD MA 5.1 and also include the original theatrical mono mix in lossless DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono

Only the US Steelbook has Dolby Vision

> StudioCanal > 2009 Criterion

1987 VHS probably even better

> Australia Imprint

Imprint has poor encoding

IVC Japan Blu-ray is clearly from a higher generation film element and looks terrible. Comparisons: https://slow.pics/c/XUTwiv7B
