Founded in Tokyo in 1988 under the guidance of film critic Nagaharu Yodogawa, IVC distributes classic Hollywood and world cinema in Japan on DVD, Blu-ray, broadcast and digital, much of it under its World Classic Film Collection banner. Its Blu-rays are region A releases aimed at the Japanese market, and English subtitles on non-English films are often missing.
