Tom Seaman founded MVD in Pennsylvania in 1986 to distribute music videotapes, and the family-run company now handles film, music and disc distribution for many smaller labels in North America. In-house lines include the numbered MVD Rewind Collection (2017) for 1980s and 1990s cult films with VHS-style slipcovers, the MVD Marquee Collection for newer catalogue titles, and the LaserVision line of 4K UHD releases begun in 2023.
