Director William Lustig started Blue Underground in 2002 after his time at Anchor Bay, and it has specialised in cult, horror and exploitation films ever since, with a strong run of Italian titles by Fulci, Argento and their peers. DVDs came first, Blu-ray from 2008 and 4K UHD from 2020, typically from new scans of vault elements with commentaries and new documentaries. MVD Entertainment handles US distribution.
