Efe Çakarel launched the London-based streaming service in 2007 as The Auteurs, renaming it MUBI in 2010; it curates arthouse, world and independent cinema and has distributed films theatrically since 2016. Titles it distributes, such as Decision to Leave and Aftersun, come out on Blu-ray, DVD and occasionally 4K UHD in the UK and US with interviews and other extras, sold through its own MUBI Shop and general retail.
