Tim League started Drafthouse Films in Austin in 2010 as the distribution arm of the Alamo Drafthouse cinema chain; digital distributor Giant Pictures bought it in 2022. The catalogue mixes new documentaries such as The Act of Killing with restored cult films like Ms .45 and Miami Connection, released on Blu-ray and digital. Recent disc editions, such as a 4K UHD of Freaked, come in partnership with Umbrella Entertainment.
