The Tokyo bookstore chain Kinokuniya has published its own DVDs and, later, Blu-rays under the Kinokuniya Label since May 2001. The line concentrates on foreign art cinema for the Japanese market, with box sets devoted to Eric Rohmer, Jacques Rivette and Carl Theodor Dreyer and an 80s Hou Hsiao-hsien collection.
