Founded in London in August 2005 by music-industry veteran Mehelli Modi, Second Run releases arthouse films that other UK labels had passed over. Its catalogue leans heavily on Czech, Slovak, Polish and wider Central and Eastern European cinema, alongside documentaries and early works by directors such as Andrzej Żuławski, Apichatpong Weerasethakul and Cristi Puiu, now issued on Blu-ray as well as DVD.
