Founded by Marin Karmitz in 1974, the Paris group produces, distributes and sells films and runs cinemas in France and Spain. Its library of over 1,000 titles includes Chaplin, Truffaut, Kieślowski and Kiarostami, much of it restored in 2K or 4K and licensed to labels abroad. The MK2 Éditions video label began in 2000; since 2017 Potemkine has produced the French DVDs and Blu-rays of its catalogue.
