Founded in 2001 in Mountain View, California, Kaleidescape makes high-end home cinema servers and has run a download-to-own film store since 2013. Films are downloaded in full to the owner's hardware rather than streamed, in 4K with lossless Dolby Atmos or DTS:X audio, so its files can match or beat a studio's UHD disc when that disc is poorly encoded.
