The UK public broadcaster has released its own programmes on tape and disc since BBC Video launched in 1980; the operation now trades as BBC Studios Home Entertainment. Its releases are mostly television, from Doctor Who season box sets with rescanned 16mm location footage to concert films, and the 1996 Doctor Who TV movie received a new 4K restoration in 2026. In the US, Warner has long distributed BBC discs.
